Berhalter OUT. The USMNT should hire?

On July 10th, USMNT Head Coach Greg Berhalter was relieved of his duties as USMNT manager for the second time in his career. After a disastrous Copa America performance, the USMNT will start their search for a new manager for the future. Berhalter completed his second stint as USMNT manager with a record of 7-6-1 with nothing but pure embarrassment. Berhalter failed again in this stint with arguably the best roster the USA has had talent wise over the past 20 years. Over the last 19 opportunities as a host country of the Copa America tournament, the USA had qualified for the Round of 16 every time. This is the first time ever that the USA had not qualified for the Round of 16 as a host country. Known as “USA’s Golden Generation,” this roster is far too talented to be playing the way they have been. As the coaching search begins, there is only one man for the job: Nick Saban

People reading this blog expected that name to be Jürgen Klopp above, but as of July 11th, Klopp has declined the initial approach from USSF regarding the USMNT job per The Athletic. To me, there is no question that Nick Saban is the man for the job. Saban is a proven winner, developed 33 first round picks, and more importantly is unemployed. I know that he continues to state that he wants to spend more time with Miss. Terry, but I know deep down he wants to get back on the field (pitch) and get back to his bread and butter.

Saban has an opportunity to build a competitive roster that would include players from the “golden generation” and develop the young men on the team into a competitive roster for the 2026 World Cup. Along with Saban’s knowledge, I believe he would create the best coaching staff in the history of US Soccer to improve this team. Saban can bring in two big names that could improve the team even more: Bill Belichick focused on defensive schemes and Urban Meyer as the keeper coach. Three of the greatest coaching minds leading the way for our country could provide some of the best entertainment value known to man. Along with the veteran experience of our new coaching staff, I am not concerned one bit with those three men coaching and relating to these young roster one bit. See the age of Belichick’s current girlfriend for proof.

Saban is the man for the job and I believe he would take the job if offered. Since 2007, he had 164 wins, 5 national championships, and 98 weeks at #1 on the CFP Poll. He is a proven winner and has the mindset to set Adams, McKennie, Pulisic, and Sargent straight and get them prepared for the 2026 World Cup. Do the right thing Matt Crocker. Hire Nick Saban and bring the US back into the forefront of international soccer. I promise you that you won’t be disappointed in the results. Saban for USMNT Manager starts now!
